The second PEST conference will be held in San Diego, California. Subtitled “The Path from Data to Decisions”, it will run from March 6th to March 9th, 2023.
The conference will address how tasks performed by PEST and PEST++ (which include calibration, sensitivity analysis, uncertainty analysis, optimisation and optimisation under uncertainty) can support model-based environmental management. However, other conference discussions will not be so PEST-centric. They will include appropriate model complexity, and whether linkages between modelling on the one hand, and decision-making, regulation and dispute resolution on the other hand, can be improved.
The conference has an impressive array of keynote speakers from government, industry and academia. Each has had nearly a lifetime’s experience working at the interface between modelling and decision-making.
